Ceiling hoists — also known as overhead patient hoists or ceiling track hoists — provide a safe, permanent lifting solution for care home bedrooms, wet rooms and communal care areas. Unlike mobile hoists, ceiling track systems free up floor space and remove the need to manoeuvre equipment around the room, making them ideal in smaller spaces or high-dependency environments.

At Trade2Care we supply fixed ceiling track systems, portable ceiling hoists and H-frame freestanding systems from Arjo, Oxford Healthcare, Invacare and other leading manufacturers. All systems are LOLER compliant and CE marked, compatible with a full range of patient slings.

Types of ceiling hoist available

  • Fixed straight track — installed between two walls, ideal for bed to wheelchair transfers
  • Curved and XY track systems — full room coverage, movement in multiple directions
  • H-frame freestanding — no ceiling fixings required, can be repositioned as needs change
  • Portable ceiling hoists — flexible option where permanent installation is not possible
