Standard slings are not appropriate for residents with significant limb differences or complex postural needs. Trade2Care stocks specialist slings designed for residents who cannot safely be hoisted in a standard universal sling.

Specialist sling types

  • Lower limb amputee slings — adapted leg support to prevent the residual limb slipping through the standard leg loop; essential for above-knee and double amputees
  • Upper limb amputee slings — additional chest and torso support to maintain balance during transfer where arm support is absent
  • Bariatric slings — wider seat panel and reinforced stitching; rated to 300 kg and above; compatible with bariatric spreader bars
  • High head support slings — integral head and neck cradle for residents with no voluntary head control
  • Neurological slings — additional lateral trunk supports for residents with spasticity, scoliosis or asymmetric posture

All specialist slings should be specified with OT and moving and handling coordinator input. For a product recommendation based on a specific resident's needs, call 03452 999 999.
